Updated Policies - COVID-19

UPDATED POLICIES and IMPORTANT INFORMATION in Response to COVID-19 Concerns

March 1, 2021

Please note that The Real Estate Company of Vermont continues to follow the Health and Safety requirements set forth by the Governor, ACCD, Vermont Realtors, as well as these updated additional precautions:

1. No more than 1 realtor and 1 household/principals are present at one time.
2. All parties must wear cloth masks covering their mouth and nose.
3. All parties must maintain 6' distance from each other at all times.
4. Anyone who is sick may not attend. 
5. There will be no carpooling. Clients shall meet realtors at the properties.
6. Buyers shall be asked not to touch any part of the house.  
7. Time in the properties will be limited to view the home only.  All additional conversations shall be held outside with proper social distancing. 
8. All purchasers shall have an updated pre-approval letter if they are using financing for said purchase. 
9. A COVID Questionnaire shall be completed by all parties the day of the showing.  
10. Vermont's Mandatory Consumer Disclosures shall be presented and signed in advance of any in-person showings.

April 17, 2020

Governor Phil Scott issued an Addendum to his Executive Order today allowing limited real estate activities to resume on Monday, April 20, 2020. 

Please note that The Real Estate Company of Vermont will proceed with the Health and Safety requirements included in the addendum as well as additional precautions:

1. No more than 2 persons (realtor and 1 client) are present at one time.
2. All parties must wear cloth masks covering their mouth and nose.
3. All parties must maintain 6' distance from each other at all times.
4. Anyone who is sick may not attend. 
5. There will be no carpooling. Clients shall meet realtors at the properties.
6. Realtors shall wear new gloves in each home and use a disinfectant wipe on any doors or other surfaces they need to touch. Buyers shall be asked not to touch any part of the house.
7. Time in the properties will be limited to view the home only.  All additional conversations shall be held outside with proper social distancing. 
8. Children shall not be permitted in properties.

April 10, 2020

Governor Phil Scott has extended the Stay at Home Order through May 15, 2020.   All in-person real estate transactions continue to be temporarily suspended. Real estate functions that can be conducted online, by phone or email may continue.

Although the agents of The Real Estate Company of Vermont are unable to meet in person until further notice, we continue to serve our clients and customers with their real estate needs.

March 30, 2020

Per Vermont Realtors via the Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD),  "they have determined that [real estate professionals] must suspend in-person operations under the Governor’s Executive order. Real estate functions that can be conducted online, by phone or email can continue. And as previously directed by the Governor, employees should be working remotely. Property appraisals, inspections, title services and other activities that require in-person business are not permitted during the term of the Executive Order." 

Although the agents of The Real Estate Company of Vermont are unable to meet in person until further notice, we continue to serve our clients and customers with their real estate needs.

March 19, 2020

In order to do our part in helping to flatten the curve and to protect our most vulnerable community members from COVID-19 through social distancing, The Real Estate Company of Vermont will be instituting the following policies effective immediately:

1. Our agents will not be maintaining regular office hours and access inside our office will be limited to our employees.

2. For clients who need to continue their immediate search for houses, we will continue to show properties while taking the following precautions:
- There will be no carpooling. Clients shall meet agents at the properties.
- Agents shall wear new gloves in each home and use a disinfectant wipe on any doors or other surfaces they need to touch. Buyers will be asked to keep their hands in their pockets and not to touch any part of the house.

3. With seller permission, we can produce a 3-D virtual tour of any home of interest so that buyers are able to view potential properties from the safety of their homes. All properties listed through our agency already have 3-D tours available.

This pandemic is an unprecedented public health emergency that requires everyone doing everything they can to limit its spread. The health of our clients, agents, and community are of the greatest importance.
